SEND EVENTS AND ACTIVITIES

Out of Bounds is proud to be a fully-inclusive activity centre, where people with a wide range of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) can come and enjoy themselves to the max, whether it’s for an individual activity, such as bowling or adventure golf, or to take part in several activities throughout the day.

The activities which we have at Out of Bounds which are SEND-friendly are the following:

Our accessible Time-Out Café is also open throughout the day for hot and cold drinks and food, snacks, ice creams, fruit smoothies and more.

EXCLUSIVE SEND EVENTS

We hold specially designed open events throughout the year which are exclusively for people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). These events are inclusive for families, siblings, and carers, who are encouraged to participate in and enjoy the activities together.

What is it that makes it a SEND event?

In order to create a SEND-friendly environment for our bespoke events, we make a few changes to our venue on these days to ensure the best possible experience can be had. These include:

No flashing lighting
Greatly reduced sound and no loud music
Multiple check in points
Flexible use of activities
Breakout spaces and quiet rooms available
Emotional Support Animals (ESA) are welcome
No wristbands are required
Plenty of parking

Our centre also has the following features all year round:

Adventure Golf, Clip ‘N Climb and Bowling are all wheelchair accessible.
We have disabled toilets and other toilets all on ground floor level, which are wheelchair accessible, with low level wash facilities and sensor triggered taps and flushes.
There is a call alarm system in the disabled toilet for assistance.
We have allocated disabled parking bays for ease of access and free parking – these areas are also suitably surfaced.
The doors are fully automated and there is an open plan layout which is all on one level, making it accessible for wheelchair users.
Gradient levels are extremely low.
Pathways around the estate are accessible and signed.
Emergency evacuation points are easily accessible.
We have function rooms which can be used as a low sensory area if required.
Our furniture is all moveable to enable easy access to lanes, areas of eating etc.
Route in is free from kerbs and has wide access.
The car park can be fully lit when needed.
